HIPS Books takes its name from Hidden in Plain Sight. It is a small catalogue of annotated digital editions of historical Hermetic, Theosophical, occult, mystical and comparative-religion books that are often easier to find as damaged scans than as books to read.
Each book page explains the historical work, the particular edition and any new editorial material. Purchases and digital delivery are handled through Etsy.
From public scan to reader’s edition
HIPS stands for Hidden in Plain Sight. The name points to historical Hermetic, Theosophical, occult, mystical and comparative-religion texts that remain available in principle but are often encountered through uneven digitisation, incomplete transcription or scans that make sustained reading difficult.
Each edition begins with a public historical scan. The book is rebuilt into a clean, searchable digital reading edition, while new editorial material is kept visibly separate from the historical text.
